AMERICANS FOR THE ARTS has selected HUG Novella´s pu-blic art project as one of the best in USA in 2018 National Recognition to the Best in Public Art Projects Annually.

Two water oak leaves were collected at the campus site where the installation would take place. With them an emotional bond is established in the creation of a hug. This sculpture serves as an icon in the UNION building.

It also establishes a close relationship with the place. Two natural elements of the place, such as these two leaves belonging to two trees that live next to each other, are collected to turn them into something perpetual, into a sculpture, an icon.

A circular, enveloping composition is created, almost like a dance.

They do not touch, but they represent the moment just before a HUG
