Tempus Fugit is located in the Cypress Waters entertainment area. In dialogue with the lake and the landscape, the human being and the urban complex. Sculpture subject is the time. Four old bells from the colonial era are the protagonists of this piece. The sculpture serves as a bell tower to display the bells, this is formed by a wraparound cover of text. The text is the word time, written in all the languages of the world.
Sound governs time and escapes. Tempus Fugit, time that goes away.
There is no element in this sculpture without a structural reason. Each part fulfills a function in the structure. Here in this project the main elements are the ancient bells where the sculpture actually rises as an useful instrument.
Tempus Fugit was commissioned by the Billingsley Company, renowned developers and art collectors based in Dallas, Texas. The piece was built in conjunction with a commercial property company in Billingsley and features antique bells from the family collection. The hollow frame is filled with the words “time” in the world different languages.
Sound and Time set up the space and emphasize the present.
